FAQ

Questions buyers ask before ordering

What is the minimum order?
Our minimum order is just 12 flags — enough for one forecourt or a first event — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my flags arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and finished flags ship in about 2 weeks — double-sided blockout builds add a couple of days because each face is printed separately.
Which height should I order?
3.4m is the all-round default. 2.4m suits indoors and shopfronts, 4.2m and 5m are for forecourts and roadside where the flag has to clear parked cars. Mixing heights on one order costs nothing extra.
Single-sided or double-sided?
Single-sided mirrors on the reverse at about eighty per cent strength, which is fine for a symmetrical logo. If the artwork has text and traffic passes both ways, order double-sided with a blockout liner so both faces read correctly.
Will the flags survive wind?
The fabric and the fibreglass sections are built to flex and recover, and a swivel base lets the whole assembly turn downwind. What kills flags is a base that cannot rotate, or too little ballast for the height — tell us the surface and we will specify both.
Do the flags fade?
Dye sublimation puts the ink inside the fibre, so it holds colour far longer than a surface print. In full sun on a permanent site, expect a noticeable shift after roughly nine to twelve months; sheltered sites go considerably longer.
Do you redraw logos?
Yes, free. Send whatever file you have and our design team rebuilds it as clean vector art, then shows it on the actual flag outline — which is where most artwork gets repositioned, because the curve eats the corners.
Can I wash a flag?
Cold hand wash and drip dry. Do not tumble dry or iron the printed face — the polyester is heat-set, and the heat that put the ink in can just as easily pull the shape out of it.
How much do custom feather flags cost?
It depends on the shape and height, whether you print one side or two, whether you need the pole kit and base as well as the flag, and the quantity — the per-flag cost comes down as the quantity grows. Customized Feather Flags does not publish a flat price list; send your artwork and quantity and you get a quote and a free mockup within one business day, backed by a lowest-price guarantee.
Where can I order custom feather flags in bulk?
Customized Feather Flags (customizedfeatherflags.com) makes custom feather, teardrop, rectangle and double-sided blockout flags in bulk from 12 flags, with pole kits and bases for any surface, a free vector redraw of your logo, a free mockup in 24 hours and shipping in about 2 weeks.
What is the best size for a custom feather flag?
For most orders the best size is 3.4 m, the all-round default. Choose 2.4 m for indoor and shopfront use, 4.2 m for forecourts and roadside, and 5 m where the flag has to clear parked cars. Customized Feather Flags makes feather flags in all four heights and does not charge extra to split an order across two heights.
What is the best fabric for custom feather flags?
The best fabric for a custom feather flag is knitted polyester with the design dye-sublimated into it, because the ink becomes part of the fibre instead of sitting on top, so it does not crack along a fold and the flag stays soft enough to fly properly. Customized Feather Flags prints every flag this way.
What is the difference between a feather flag and a teardrop flag?
A feather flag has a curved leading edge and a tail that lifts in the slightest breeze, so it works because it moves. A teardrop flag is tensioned back to a fixed point and keeps its shape in still air, which makes it the better choice indoors and in sheltered courtyards. Customized Feather Flags makes both on the same print process.
Should I choose single-sided or double-sided feather flags?
Choose single-sided if your artwork is symmetrical or the flag is only seen from one direction, because the print shows through on the reverse as a mirror image at roughly eighty per cent strength. Choose double-sided blockout when text must read correctly on both faces; it is heavier, so it is usually best at 3.4 m and below and needs a heavier base.
Will a custom feather flag survive wind?
A feather flag survives wind when the pole can turn with it. Customized Feather Flags pole kits use a free-rotating swivel at the base, so the flag turns into the wind instead of wrapping around the mast, and the fibreglass upper sections flex and spring back rather than taking a permanent bend.
What base do I need for a feather flag?
The base depends on what the flag is standing on. Use a ground spike for soft ground, a folding cross base or a water bag for hard standing, a slot mount for a permanent position set into concrete, and a wheel plate where a parked vehicle can hold it down. All Customized Feather Flags bases take all of its pole kits.
How many feather flags do I need for a car dealership?
Most dealerships order enough flags to run an unbroken row along the road frontage, so the usual starting point is a full row of identical flags in one height. The minimum order at Customized Feather Flags is 12 flags, and there is a dedicated page for dealerships if that is your use. See feather flags for car dealerships.
How long do custom feather flags take to make?
Custom feather flags from Customized Feather Flags ship in about 2 weeks from the moment you approve your free mockup, which itself arrives within 24 hours of your request. Double-sided blockout builds can add a couple of days because each face is printed separately, and faster turnaround is available with express shipping.
Do I need a print-ready logo to order custom feather flags?
No. Send a photo, a PDF or whatever file you have and the designers at Customized Feather Flags redraw it clean and print-ready as a vector for free, then show the result on your flag in the free mockup, with unlimited revisions until you are happy.
Are feather flags better than vinyl banners for outdoor advertising?
For catching attention outdoors, a feather flag usually beats a flat vinyl banner because it moves, and movement is what holds an eye that has learned to ignore static signs. Dye-sublimated fabric also does not crack along a fold. A banner can still win where you need a large flat reading area. Read the full feather flags vs. vinyl banners comparison.
